HistoryEdit

The Sea Scurnags were one of three of the Scurnag types that emerged in the aftermath of the Days of Fury. A total recombination of all genetic material and a toxic cloud of impure Chaos Energy provoked the creation of an creature that could survive such environs, and actually thrived on the Chaos Energy.

When the gods emerged as well, a couple hundred years after, and began to absorb the Chaos Energies to produce their powers, the Scurnags directed their attentions to the gods instead as their primary source of food. Thousands of eggs and baby gods were picked off first, before they got confident and began pursuing more mature gods as their prey. The Scurnags already had a special 'sensor' for Chaos Energy, and this enabled them to search out the gods, who had a strong aura of it, and consume them. In effect, they became the perfect predator to the young order.

Their existence was threatened by teams of gods who rose up with their powers and primitive weapons to kill their aggressors. The gods fared better in larger groups, able to take down their enemies when the ratio was in their favour. By the time that villages were coming into existence, the Scurnags had gone into hiding, and all but a few aggressive or hungry beasts continued to plague the earth.

The Sea Scurnags were confirmed to have lived at least 3600 years before current era, and appear to have been a more primitive form of predator, armed with several rows of razor-sharp teeth and sucker-tentacles. They were believed to have been a form of marine life that died out long before Dimitri was born, and the fossil records seemed to confirm this.

Dimitri Byron and his brother Edmund studied all forms of life during their extended studies in university, but most particularly did the sea scurnags appeal to the older of the two brothers. It was he that concluded that the immature form and the adult form were of the same species, and he actually pushed the limits of science in fusing immature sea scurnag DNA to his very person.

Roughly current era, Enerjak discovered that the sea scurnags had taken the time in his absence as a god, and had 'evolved' to a higher form with significant intelligence and a new pattern of living and hunting, working off a monarchial system, and taking a fish-based diet. It could be assumed that this form was a mere extension of the other two; that an increase in intelligence and physicality was merely the next step in development, as even the old scurnags like Cthura appear to have followed with this. This development, which included a Queen and a thriving society, seemed altogether different from the other two scurnag-type developments; through scarity of food, the Air seemed to have died off, and the Land Scurnags became very isolated and individualised, led to territorial wars to protect what little they had
